Wanda O. Corse, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Charleviox Care Center in St. Charles.
She was born June 5, 1915, at Menfro, daughter of Herman and Della Cox. She and Kenneth E. Corse were married Aug. 3, 1936. He died Oct. 2, 1998.
The Corses operated the Yankey Restaurant and grocery store at Menfro several years. She also wrote a column for the Republic/Monitor Newspaper 46 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church at Crosstown.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Besand of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Walter Corse of Arnold, Louis Corse of Arcata, Calif.; a sister, Imogene Yankey of St. Charles; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to noon, and at Bethlehem Church after 1 p.m.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Revs. Donald Cox and Steve Francis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
