DONGOLA, Ill. -- Wanda Carson, 79, of Dongola died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. She was born Aug. 23, 1924, at Johnston City, Ill., daughter of Theodore Dobb and Hazel Lea Windings Goins. She married Edward Carson Sept. 11, 1940. He died Jan. 21, 1986.
She was a member of the Dongola United Pentecostal Church and a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Bill G. Carson of Clinton, Ill., and John B. Carson of Hayworth, Ill.; four brothers, Ted Goins of Jonesboro, Ill., the Rev. Robert Goins of Anna, Glen Goins of Wetaug, Ill., and Eddie Joe Goins of Dongola; five sisters, Cynthia White of Clinton, Joyce Cameron and Wilma Roach of Anna, and Lucille Temke and Betty Schultz of Dongola; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola and again after 9 a.m. Monday at Dongola United Pentecostal Church. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Goins officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
