ADVANCE, Mo. — Wanda Corbin Carlew, 91, of Advance passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Greenbrier, Mo., daughter of Grover and Ruth Blackledge Corbin. She and John Carlew were married Nov. 10, 1936. He preceded her in death April 7, 1987.
Wanda retired from Carter Carburetor in St. Louis. She then moved to Mountain Home, Ark., where she was a member of Disciples of Christ Church. She had lived in Advance the last 20 years where she attended First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister; Wyvonne Croy of Advance; two brothers, Jimmie Corbin of Jackson, Don Corbin of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Eric Shrum and Jim Corbin officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
