Walter Woods

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Walter B. Woods, 73, of Sikeston died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at his home.

He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Calera, Ala., to Willie and Velma Johnson Woods. He was a substitute teacher for the Bell City schools.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include an aunt, Charlotte Jones of Elkton, Mich.; a nephew, Andrew Woods of Snellville, Ga., and other relatives.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston. The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Temple AME Church with the Rev. Terry McKee officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
