UNIONTOWN - Walter R. Hopfer, 73, of Uniontown, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, at his home.
He was born Apr. 12, 1919, in Uniontown, son of Rudolph T. and Frieda J. Frentzel Hopfer.
He married Virginia Bingenheimer Apr. 18, 1948.
Hopfer was a farmer.
He was also a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, were he served as a church trustee and a finance board member.
He was also a member of the Perry County and Cape Girardeau County Association for the Retarded Citizens. He was active with "My Camp" in Uniontown.
Survivors include is wife; a son, Ronald Hopfer of Uniontown; two brothers, Harold Hopfer of St. Louis, Norbert Hopfer of Columbia; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville from 5-9 p.m. today and from 6:30-8 a.m. Tuesday.
Hopfer will be transported to the Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown for services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
