Walter Dean Peetz, 73, of Scott City, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Aug. 4, 1939, in Scott County, Mo., to the late Otto and Augusta "Lady" Walter Peetz. Walter and Wanda Jones were married Aug. 4, 1966, and she preceded him in death on April 29, 2009.
Walter was a truck driver for A.B.F. Trucking. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City, F.O.E. #3775 in Cape Girardeau and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Todd Corbin; grandson Ethan of Petersburg, Ill.; and a large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister Gale Dale.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m at the church with the Rev Marty Hasz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
