WALTER P. BARR

Walter P. Barr, 38, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born March 27, 1959, in Mount Pleasant, son of Virgil Barr and Barbara Cutts.

He worked for the city of Cape Girardeau and had attended the Open Bible Church in Mount Pleasant before moving to Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by his father of Mount Pleasant; his mother of Lockridge, Iowa; his fiance, Jamie McClanahan of Cape Girardeau; and a son, Daniel Barr of Aurora, Ill.; three brothers, Chris Barr of Mount Pleasant, Lanny Barr of Montana and Mickey Barr of Danville, Iowa; and a half sister, Vanessa Wagner of Hillsboro, Iowa.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Open Bible in Mount Pleasant, with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Visitation will be Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
