Walter L. Stephens, 77, of 1203 Bloomfield Rd., died Friday, Sept. 17, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916, at Townley, Mo., son of Matt and Melinda Nicholson Stephens.
He married Mildred Flowers, April 26, 1941, at Bloomfield, Mo.
Stephens worked for the Corps of Engineers for three years. He was a yard foreman for Riverside Lumber Company for more than 32 years, retiring in December 1976.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hall of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Harvey Stephens of Advance, Joseph Stephens of Cape Girardeau, Charles Stephens of Bloomfield, Mo.; a sister, Lucille Stacey of Williston, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Norman Elledge officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
