ORAN -- Funeral service for Walter G. Herb of Oran will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Bill Bradley will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Friends may call at the chapel from noon to service time.
Herb, 83, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.
He was born April 10, 1913, in Pontiac, Mich. He and Pauline Ulmer were married Aug. 10, 1992.
Herb was an automobile and bus inspector 23 years at General Motors in Pontiac. He was a member of Church of Christ at Morley, and United Auto Workers Local 594.
He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Herb of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Herb of Manchester, Ohio; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.
