CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Walter Wayne Gordon, 95, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 16, 1922, in Rolla, Missouri, to the late George Walter and Minnie Bell Sharp Gordon. He married Jewell Kelley on Aug. 18, 1948, and she preceded him in death May 9, 2011...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Walter Wayne Gordon, 95, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 16, 1922, in Rolla, Missouri, to the late George Walter and Minnie Bell Sharp Gordon. He married Jewell Kelley on Aug. 18, 1948, and she preceded him in death May 9, 2011.

Walter was a retired foreman and bridge inspector with Frisco Railroad in Chaffee. He was a member of the Chaffee American Legion No. 389 and the VFW Post 3127. He served in United States Army during World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Danny (Sarah) Gordon of Chaffee and Larry Gordon of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Riley and Glenda (Mike) Tuttleton, both of Chaffee; four brothers, Milton Gordon of Doniphan, Missouri, Delmar Gordon of Peace Valley, Missouri, and Doyle Gordon and Everett Gordon, both of Wentzville, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
