SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Walter Carr of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Crews Welsh and Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carr, 73 years old, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born April 11, 1917, at Kewanee, son of Walter and Anna King Carr. He and the former Evelyn Crosno were married Nov. 28, 1936.

Carr owned and operated Carr Roofing until retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Floyd and Don Carr of Sikeston; a daughter, Sandy Stricker of Sikeston; a sister, Bernice James of Crawfordsville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, grandson, six brothers and four sisters.
