BERTRAND -- Walter C. Bertrand, 82, of Bertrand, died Friday, Aug. 12, 1994, at Miner Nursing Center. He was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Tennessee, son of Homer Lee and Daisy Jerrett McKinley. He and Sarah Christine Collier were married Feb. 27, 1932. She died March 1, 1984...

BERTRAND -- Walter C. Bertrand, 82, of Bertrand, died Friday, Aug. 12, 1994, at Miner Nursing Center.

He was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Tennessee, son of Homer Lee and Daisy Jerrett McKinley. He and Sarah Christine Collier were married Feb. 27, 1932. She died March 1, 1984.

McKinley retired from Brown Shoe Co. in 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Charles McKinley of Bertrand, Carman McKinley of Charleston; four brothers, Woodrow McKinley of Sikeston, Horace and Clayborne McKinley of Bertrand, Homer McKinley of Scott City; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
