WALTER ANCELL

SIKESTON -- Funeral for Walter C. Ancell of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Msgr. William Stanton will officiate.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. until service time.

Ancell, 88, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1911, at Kelso, son of Albert Clay and Anna Marie Moore Ancell.

He and Mary Dover Ancell were married Oct. 2, 1981, at Sikeston.

Ancell was president of McCoy Seed Co., retiring in 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Charles Ancell of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Pattie Bogue of Germantown, Tenn.; and three stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
