SCOTT CITY -- Walter August Eifert, 91, of Scott City, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 20, 1902, at Illmo, son of Henry and Anna Ristig Eifert. He and Frieda Elizabeth Sanders were married Sept. 17, 1927, at Illmo. She died Jan. 19, 1979.
Eifert farmed all his life, and had been a car inspector with Cotton Belt Railroad 25 years, retiring in 1967. He was a lifetime member of Eisleben Lutheran Church, held various offices in the church, and was a member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.
Survivors include a son, Charles Eifert, Jackson Route 1; two daughters, Virginia Miller of Glen Carbon, Ill., Martha Reeves of Marine, Ill.; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eisleben Church. The Rev. Joe Sarrault will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
