Wallace Robert Knight, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Dec. 22, 1922, at Parma, Mo., son of Thomas Calvin and Mary Louisa Richardson Knight. He and Frances Iona Brorein were married Jan. 22, 1945, at Fort Campbell, Ky.
Knight served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a lifetime member of the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, the United Methodist Church at Advance, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, St. Louis. Knight was a farmer. For many years he was president of the Bollinger County Bank in Lutesville, Mo.
Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Wallace R. Knight II of Memphis, Tenn., David B. Knight of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Mary Miller of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
