SIKESTON -- Wallace G. "Wally" Sindle, 67, of Round Rock, Texas, formerly of Farmington, died Monday, April 6, 1992, at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, following an extended illness.
He was born May 27, 1924, in Dover, Ark., son of Houston and Viola Backus Sindle. He and Edna Alsup were married July 5, 1988.
Sindle worked 32 years at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill., retiring in 1980. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974 in Peoria, and member of the Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Sindle of Manito, Ill.; a daughter, Galine Himmel of Manito; five sisters, Susie Mason of Grand Haven, Mich., Amo Phillips of Wapella, Ill., Louise Newton of Sikeston, Mary Williams of Oran, Lillian Short of Dexter; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Billy Butler will officiate, with burial in New Morley Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
