SIKESTON -- W. Dean Righter, 73, of Sikeston died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at his home. He was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Morehouse, son of W.L. and Mary Frances Baker Righter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He formerly operated Righter Trucking Co. and for the last 14 years he worked for the Canedy Sign Co. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston and attended Sikeston Community Baptist Church...

SIKESTON -- W. Dean Righter, 73, of Sikeston died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at his home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Morehouse, son of W.L. and Mary Frances Baker Righter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He formerly operated Righter Trucking Co. and for the last 14 years he worked for the Canedy Sign Co. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston and attended Sikeston Community Baptist Church.

He married Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Wyman on Jan. 22, 1949, in Piggott, Ark.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Priscilla Childers of Coconut Creek, Fla., and Lesa Wille of Manchester; two sisters, Eleanor M. Cox of St. Louis and Lillian Matthews of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Dolan Rogers and Ed Pangborn officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
