SIKESTON, Mo. -- Vonda Lee Snyder, 68, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Hayward Joseph and Verna Ussery Poe. She and the Rev. Bill Snyder were married March 25, 1956, in Cape Girardeau...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Vonda Lee Snyder, 68, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Hayward Joseph and Verna Ussery Poe. She and the Rev. Bill Snyder were married March 25, 1956, in Cape Girardeau.

Snyder was a 1953 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau. She lived in Southern California 35 years and was a typesetter in the newspaper industry. She went into full-time ministry with her husband in 1982. She later lived in Seminole, Okla., nine years and was co-founder of Seminole Foursquare Church in 1990.

She had lived in Sikeston the past four years, and was a member of Living Bread Fellowship in Sikeston.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Ken Snyder of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Kathy Pahssen of Sikeston; two brothers, Don Poe of Shawnee, Okla., Dan Poe of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

There is no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Chastain will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
