Vona Koenig

Vona Lee Koenig, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Perryville, Missouri, to Frances P. and Ella E. Fellows Oster. She was a graduate of Perryville High School.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southeast Missouri State University and worked many years for the Missouri Division of Family Services.

She always did her best to raise her family in hopes of giving them a solid future.

Survivors include children, Ron Koenig, Patricia Lynch and Terry Koenig; sisters, Lois Brewer of Kirkwood, Missouri, and Linda Steinbecker of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Chris Koenig, and her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
