DEXTER -- Vivien L. Lovell, 99, of Dexter died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 9, 1900, in Guthrie County, Iowa, daughter of Wilse L. and Lucy Bower Lambert. She and John Jackson Lovell were married Feb. 24, 1919, in Omaha, Neb. He died Jan. 15, 1982...

DEXTER -- Vivien L. Lovell, 99, of Dexter died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 9, 1900, in Guthrie County, Iowa, daughter of Wilse L. and Lucy Bower Lambert. She and John Jackson Lovell were married Feb. 24, 1919, in Omaha, Neb. He died Jan. 15, 1982.

Lovell lived in Iowa and North Dakota, moving to Missouri in 1937 and to Dexter in 1954. She was a telephone operator before marriage, and also assisted a doctor in making house calls during the flu epidemic of 1918-19.

She and her husband owned and operated Lovell Service Station in Dexter several years.

Survivors include two daughters, Leone Roper Proffer of Cape Girardeau, Gladys Goeppinger of Boone, Iowa; a sister, Billie Riley of Andrews, Texas; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, with grandsons Mickey Roper and Rockne Wilferth officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
