DELTA -- Virgle Ikerman, 90, of Delta, died Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1905, in Allenville, son of Allen and Emily Snider Ikerman. He and Edna Hodge were married April 28, 1928. She died Aug. 8, 1992.
Ikerman farmed at Delta all his life, retiring in 1969. He was a life member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Don Ikerman of Perryville, Jerry Ikerman of Wood River, Ill., Delbert Ikerman of Benton, Larry Ikerman of Whitewater; three daughters, Patsy Dowdy of Paragould, Ark., Carolyn Barlow and Nora Johnston of Delta; a sister, Eula Phillips of Collinsville, Ill.; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Strong officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Arbor.
