Virginia Welker of Millersville departed this life to her eternal home Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022. She was born April 24, 1943, to Cline O. and Fredia Smith Welker of Millersville. She graduated from Jackson Senior High School in 1962 and went on to marry her sweetheart, Richard Welker, on Dec. 15, 1963...

Virginia Welker of Millersville departed this life to her eternal home Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.

She was born April 24, 1943, to Cline O. and Fredia Smith Welker of Millersville. She graduated from Jackson Senior High School in 1962 and went on to marry her sweetheart, Richard Welker, on Dec. 15, 1963.

Virginia resided in Millersville, MO for more than 40 years, not far from her family home.

She worked at the hosiery mill and Lee-Rowan -- now Rubbermaid -- and retired in 2005 with 30 years of employment. She then became a substitute cook for Jackson School District.

To cherish her memory, Virginia leaves her husband of nearly 59 years, Richard Welker of Millersville; daughter, Michelle Welker (Jeff Hilton) of Sedgewickville, Missouri; brother, Paul (Sherry) Welker of Millersville; two grandsons, Marcus and Da'on Bolden; sister-in-law, Betty Baudendistel; brother-in-law, John F. Drum Jr.; as well as 15 nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Cline O. Welker; mother, Fredia Cornell; stepfather, Dale Cornell; two siblings, Jerry Welker and Opal Drum; brother-in-law, Edwin Baudendistel; sister-in-law, Shirley Garst; and nephew, David Baudendistel.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday, Oct. 31, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

The Rev. Nathan Brown and Bishop Ronnie Brown will conduct the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at the church. Interment will follow at Old Salem Cemetery near Millersville.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Calvary United Pentecostal Church.
