SIKESTON, Mo. -- Virginia Dean Walls, 69, of Peoria, Ill., died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, in the emergency room at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
She was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Sikeston, daughter of Lonzo and Mary Etta Stovall Murphy. She first married Carl Lynell Little May 3, 1952, in Sikeston. He died Dec. 29, 1971. She later married William "Joe" Walls June 4, 1974, in Sikeston.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick Little of Asheboro, N.C.; two daughters, Cindy Laursen of Asheboro, Marietta Sodowski of Germantown Hills, Ill.; four brothers, Dean Murphy of Jefferson City, Mo., Gene Murphy of Sikeston, Larry Murphy of Alliance, Ohio, Jerry Murphy of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Barbara Murray of Sikeston, Lucille Mills of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Warren officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
