GLADSTONE, Mo.--Virginia Lee Roll, 78, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Gladstone.
She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Tell City, Ind., daughter of Percy S. and Mary L. Sweat Sprinkle. She and Colvert Lee Roll Sr. were married July 6, 1946, in Newberry, Ind.
Roll was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was co-owner of Lee's Heating Co. Roll moved to Cape Girardeau in 1962. She became a Kentucky colonel in 1978. Roll taught Sunday school for 30 years and was active in church functions. She was in Who's Who of American Women for 1985-1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Kistner of Cape Girardeau; a son, Colvert L. Roll Jr. of Gladstone; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two daughters, two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at LaCroix United Methodist Church.
