MORLEY, Mo. -- Virginia A. Phillips, 93, of Morley passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 3, 1921, in Chaffee, Missouri, to the late Sylvester and Anna Elizabeth Owens Matthews.
Virginia retired as a manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield in St. Louis, then moved back to Morley in 1987 where she attended Morley Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Richard (Kay) Evans of Hawpoint, Missouri; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne (Gary) Pobst of Oran, Missouri; raised a granddaughter, Michele Ferguson of Morley; two sisters, Christine Unnerstall of Chubbuck, Indiana, and Edith (Jim) Lansmon of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, John; a daughter, Sherry; a grandson, Jeff; a great-great-grandson, Lane; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
