VIRGINIA NICKELL

SIKESTON -- Virginia Nickell, 80, of Sikeston, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 1994, at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla.

She was born Feb. 7, 1914, in Sikeston, daughter of Henry and Mary Nayton Williams. She and Arvil "Babe" Nickell were married May 23, 1974.

Nickell was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School, and member of its All-Star Basketball Team.

She had worked in the fitting department at International Shoe Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include a brother, Avelle Williams of Sikeston.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
