Virginia Katheryn McFerron, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born June 20,1922, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of George and Rhoda Johnson Latham. She and Thomas J. McFerron were married July 6, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. He died Oct. 8, 1999.
McFerron was a graduate of Central High School, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
She was a licensed practical nurse for Dr. Nussbaum several years, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Thomas L. McFerron of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mayme Whitlock of San Diego, Calif.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jay White will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
