Virginia Louise Mart, 80, of Humeston, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born March 27, 1920, at Derby, Iowa, daughter of Loy Henry and Claire McKinley Fulton George. She married Murray Mart Aug. 10, 1941, at Memphis, Mo. He died Oct. 13, 1995.
Mart was a 1937 graduate of Derby High School, and 1939 graduate of Iowa School of Cosmetology.
She had worked at Marjorie's Beauty Shop in Humeston. She and her husband lived on a farm near Derby 48 years, and after retiring moved to Humeston in 1989.
Mart was a member of the United Methodist Church of Derby, Last Chance Ladies Group, and Home Service Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kruger of Des Moines, Anne McDonough of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Martha Kalbus and Wilma Siebrass; a brother, Clyde Storie; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two stepgrandsons; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
Funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. Joan White officiated. Burial was in Derby Cemetery.
