DONGOLA, Ill. -- Virginia Lingle, 84, of Dongola died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at her home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Wilmington, N.C., daughter of Francis and Emma Jane Skipper Jacobs. She and Glenn Lingle were married Oct. 19, 1945. He died June 22, 2002.
Lingle was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna, its Ladies Guild, and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn Lingle Jr. and Carl Lingle of Dongola, Robert Lingle of Anna, Ill.; a brother, Francis Jacobs of Leland, N.C.; a sister, Elizabeth Musselwhite of Leland; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, with Monsignor Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
