Virginia "Skeeter" Lamkin, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994, at Chateau Girardeau. She was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Francis Marion and Anne H. Huey Williams. She and Robert E.L. Lamkin Jr. were married June 1, 1937, in Cape Girardeau. He died July 15, 1992...

Virginia "Skeeter" Lamkin, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Francis Marion and Anne H. Huey Williams. She and Robert E.L. Lamkin Jr. were married June 1, 1937, in Cape Girardeau. He died July 15, 1992.

Lamkin was a graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She taught art at Washington School several years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Chapter FY of P.E.O., and Cape Girardeau Executives Club.

Survivors include a son, Robert E.L. Lamkin III of Kirkwood; a daughter, Ann Kinder of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Frankie Estes of Cape Girardeau, Dorothy Williams of El Paso, Texas, and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Edward Brasington will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
