VIRGINIA HOWARD

Virginia B. Howard, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 24, 1925, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Cledes B. and Jessie Lou Slinkard Limbaugh. She and Ben H. Howard were married Nov. 14, 1942, at Cape Girardeau.

She was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was active in music and missions at the church. She had worked in food services for the Cape Girardeau public school system, the Oak Ridge school system and Southeast Hospital.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Beverly Ann Hart of Soldotna, Alaska, Jean E. Ervin of Johannesburg, South Africa and Rebecca Sue Sams of Granite Bay, Calif.; three sisters, Pansy L. Conners and Jeanette Sams, both of Cape Girardeau, and Janice Landess of Soldotna, Alaska; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Revs. E. K. Purcell and William L. Burke will officiate, with burial to follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
