SPRINGFIELD -- Virginia F. Malcolm, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at the Primrose Place Health Care Center in Springfield. She was born April 29, 1909, in Clarkton, daughter to Van Harrison and Mayme Waltrip Sharp. She married Pleas M. Malcolm Dec. 15, 1935. He preceded her in death June 2, 1966...

SPRINGFIELD -- Virginia F. Malcolm, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at the Primrose Place Health Care Center in Springfield.

She was born April 29, 1909, in Clarkton, daughter to Van Harrison and Mayme Waltrip Sharp. She married Pleas M. Malcolm Dec. 15, 1935. He preceded her in death June 2, 1966.

Malcolm was a graduate of the Gideon High School and the Cape Girardeau Business College. She was employed as a nurse in New Madrid. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include a son, Allen Malcolm of Springfield; a daughter, Marjane Bullard of San Antonio; four brothers, Van Sharp of New Madrid, James Sharp of Bethalto, Ill., and Keith and Byron Sharp, both of Gideon; two sisters, Mary Priscilla Donoho of Wappapello and Wanda Graves of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dempster Memorial Chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating. Entombment will be at the Sikeston City Mausoleum.
