Virginia Louise Eftink, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 11, 2021, at The Lutheran Home. She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Cape Girardeau to August and Emma Louise Griffin Boos. She and Elmer Joseph Eftink were married Jan. 24, 1952, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her Nov. 17, 1998...

Virginia Louise Eftink, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 11, 2021, at The Lutheran Home.

She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Cape Girardeau to August and Emma Louise Griffin Boos. She and Elmer Joseph Eftink were married Jan. 24, 1952, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her Nov. 17, 1998.

Virginia was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a cook at St. Mary's Grade School over 23 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the St. Mary's Cathedral Ladies, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Oak Grove Homemakers. She also served as a 4-H leader.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie (Patti) Eftink of Gordonville, Earl Eftink of Cape Girardeau and Ken (Becky) Eftink of Weatherford, Texas; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Tom) Dickerson and Louise Eftink of Jackson; one sister, Rosanna Schallert of Effingham, Illinois; 10 Grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond Boos; one sister, Geraldine Huffman; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., with a Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral Ladies.
