Virginia Doney, 84, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Nellie Criebaum Hale. She and Earl Doney were married Dec. 27, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. He died March 8, 1994.
Doney was a music teacher at schools in Bell City, Fruitland, Cape Girardeau, and 27 years in St. Louis County Public Schools. The Doneys returned to Cape Girardeau in 1974.
She was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, and played the piano and organ 13 years.
Survivors include a son Robert E. Doney of Owensville; a sister, Elsie Hale of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
