HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- Virginia M. Cashion, 77, of Hendersonville, formerly of Scott City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at Life Care Center of Old Hickory in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Bollinger County, Missouri, to the Rev. William "Willie" and Pearl Eaker Stratton. She was first married to Jimmy Lee Williams. They had three sons, Todd, Randy and Scott. She and Dan Cashion were married Dec. 31, 1993. They had been married nearly 27 years, when Dan passed away Aug. 12, 2020.

Virginia was raised in Bollinger County and was a graduate of Woodland High School. She then successfully completed cosmetology school in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

For many years, she and Jimmy co-owned and operated Model Hair World on Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau. She then worked more than 30 years as a stylist at J.C. Penney Hair Salon in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 2006.

Virginia was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include three sons, Todd (Patricia) Williams of Hendersonville, Randy Williams of Scott City and Scott (Tasha) Williams of Hendersonville; a stepson, Heath (Kristi) Cashion of Jackson; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ann (the late Walter) Stratton of Jackson.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Cashion; a brother, Walter Stratton; her parents; and former husband, Jimmy Lee Williams.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
