CANALOU, Mo. -- Wes Virginia Bond, 81, of Canalou died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Sikeston Health Care.
She was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Canalou, daughter of Wes and Della Fitzgerald Smith. She and Hubert Bond were married in 1940 in Benton, Mo. He died in 1986.
Bond was owner and operator of Bond's Beauty Box in Canalou for 45 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Canalou.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Joe Bond of Bloomfield, Mo.; one daughter, Paulette Curtis of O'Fallon, Mo.; one sister, Charity Lee "Ducky" Morris of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The Rev. Mike Cartwright will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
