CHARLESTON -- Virginia Armetha Brown, 77, of Charleston, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born July 15, 1916, in the Gravel Ridge community, daughter of Leonard Price and Virgie Harrison Stark Sr. She and Thomas Venard Brown were married June 14, 1936. He died June 14, 1962...

CHARLESTON -- Virginia Armetha Brown, 77, of Charleston, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born July 15, 1916, in the Gravel Ridge community, daughter of Leonard Price and Virgie Harrison Stark Sr. She and Thomas Venard Brown were married June 14, 1936. He died June 14, 1962.

Brown was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 4294.

Survivors include a daughter, Joann Ellis of St. Charles; two brothers, Jack Stark of Charleston, Irvin Stark of Savannah, Ga.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, brother and great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Penn will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
