JONESBORO, Ill. -- Virgil D. Wiggs, 82, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1919, at Lick Creek, Ill., son of James and Hattie Emery Wiggs. He and Genevieve Dillow were married Oct. 5, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Wiggs worked 22 years at Choate Mental Health Center. He attended Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Toler of Jonesboro, Barbara File of Anna, Ill., Dianne Craig of Mascoutah, Ill.; a son, Gary Wiggs of Cobden, Ill.; three sisters, Zella Roberts and Ellen Roberts of Buncombe, Ill., Viola Barber of Burbank, Ill.; a brother, Virtus Wiggs of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Eidson officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
