Virgil L. Brown, 79, 231 Mill, died Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 5, 1914, at Tallapoosa, son of John and Jenny Moore Brown. He married Ethel Childers in 1938 at Cape Girardeau. She died June 22, 1969.
Brown had worked at Federal Materials, and retired from the city of Cape Girardeau Street Department.
Survivors include four sons, Dale, Jody, Terry and Pete Brown, all of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Betty Keller of Bradley, Ill., Ida Wren and Susie Brown of Tupelo, Miss.; two brothers, Virden Brown of Cape Girardeau, Cecil Brown of Kankakee, Ill.; two sisters, Genevieve Bryant of Kankakee, Eulah Sneed of Henderson, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
