Virgil Gipson, 73, of Piedmont, Mo., died Friday, May 16, 2008.
He was born March 1, 1935, in Sitka, Ark. He and Eula Mae Hewlett were married June 19, 1954, in St. Louis.
Gipson owned and operated Gipson Electrical Contractors in Piedmont many years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Brinkley of Rolla, Mo., Brenda Rayfield of Piedmont, Teresa McQueen of Atlanta; a son, Lloyd Gipson of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. A prayer service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine Church, with the Rev. Mark Binder officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with military honors to be conducted.
