BELL CITY, Mo. -- Virgil "J.D." Freeman Sr., 64, of Bell City died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Trenton, Tenn., son of John Franklin and Jane Edna Harris Freeman.
Freeman was a mechanic for Potashnick Transportation Inc.
Survivors include a son, Virgil Freeman Jr. of Oak Ridge; four brothers, A.J. Freeman of Kenton, Tenn., Henry Freeman of Sikeston, Mo., Eldon Freeman of Rutherford, Tenn., Mitchell Freeman of Milan, Tenn.; four sisters, Ada Duck of Kentucky, Mary Duck of Aurora, Ill., Opal Burns of Parma, Mo., Jody Mathis of Sikeston; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston after 11 a.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Wes Wright officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
