Funeral Mass for Virgil Thomas Christoff of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Christoff, 82, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, son of George Evan and Viola Agnus Griffaw Christoff. He and Lucille Haas have been married 58 years.
Christoff had been a salesman at Auto Tire and Parts. He was a member of St. Vincent's Church and Knights of Columbus. He was active in the Cursillo Movement and Marriage Encounter.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Christoff of Russellville, David Christoff of Manchester; three daughters, Carolyn Spinner of Cape Girardeau, Mary Pappas of Florissant, Jane Wibbenmeyer of Brentwood; a brother, George Christoff of Lakewood, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
