BLOOMFIELD -- Virgie Elizabeth Phillips, 94, of Bloomfield died Friday, May 30, 1997, at Bloomfield.
She was born April 10, 1903, at Bloomfield, daughter of Levi and Cora Aslin Williams. She and Grover Phillips were married Dec. 24, 1924. He died March 21, 1972.
A lifelong resident of the Bloomfield community, she was retired from Elder Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Phillips of Dexter, Billy Phillips of Tacoma, Wash., Bobby Phillips of Paris, Tenn.; a daughter, Vertaree Magee of Oak Ridge; a sister, Marie Wilfong of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
