Virgie Mae Kraust, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at her home.
She was born May 28, 1930, in Delta to Leo and Beulah Survace Simmons. She and Yewell Kraust were married Jan. 14, 1950, at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death June 27, 2000.
She and Yewell owned and operated their own business, VICAR, in Cape Girardeau. After retirement, she enjoyed camping with her grandchildren, spending time at their winter home in Lake Okeechobee, Florida, fishing and being with their beloved friends. She lived her life to the fullest every day, surrounded by family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne (Jim) Wills of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Nicki Kraust of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mabel Shaefer of Scott City and Doris Spencer of Fruitland; four grandchildren, Kristin (John) Tucker, Jamie (Michael) Keller, Christopher Kraust and Randi Kraust; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy Kraust; and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
