Virgie L. Hill, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 11, 1923, in Delta, Mo., daughter of Adam Sylvester Nance and Daisy Arizona Nance.
She first married Clarence A. Hafele April 17, 1943, and he died in 1969. She then married Leo Burton Hill Oct. 13, 1962, and he died in 1970. She then married Roy L. Craft in 1988.
Virgie owned and operated Leo's Central Inn from 1962 until 1982. She had also worked as a checker and presser for Cape Cleaners for eight years. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Collin and Judy Hafele of Jackson, Mo.; three brothers, Cletus Nance of Fruitland, Mo., James Nance of Cape Girardeau and Clifford Eugene Nance of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Marjorie H. Roberts of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren, James B. Hafele and Lori Ann Hafele.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one brother, Leon S. Nance.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
