PUXICO -- Virgie Allen, 89, died Friday, Sept. 20, 1996, at the Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
She was born April 21, 1907, in Puxico, daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth Mullens Tucker. She was a lifelong resident of Puxico and member of the Brown General Baptist Church. She married Ellsworth Allen on Oct. 3, 1924. He died Oct. 17, 1966.
She is survived by a son, Mike Allen, of Rincon, Ga.; two daughters, Gale Mae King of Jackson and Carrie Elizabeth Newman of Louden, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Brown General Baptist Church near Puxico, with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Cemetery.
