Violet S. Reynolds, 96, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 4, 1921, in Bollinger County, Missouri, daughter of John Wesley and Ada Mae Watkins Schreiner. She and Lowell "Toby" Reynolds were married Sept. 1, 1940. He passed away Oct. 26, 1991.
Violet was a 1939 graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the International Shoe factory in Jackson and sold Avon products for many years.
Violet was baptized at New McKendree United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the quilter's club, Naomi Circle and WSCS. She was a member of Eastside Homemaker Club in Jackson, the Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary and was past worthy matron and had received a 50-year pin from Jackson Eastern Star Chapter No. 91.
Loving survivors include a brother, Don (Magdelene) Schreiner of Jackson; two grandchildren, Terri (Dennis) Brown of Oak Ridge and Kim (Darren) Launius of Perryville, Missouri; a son-in-law, Nelson Morton of Kampville, Illinois; six great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell "Toby" Reynolds; a daughter, Carol Morton; and a sister, Norma Mayfield.
The visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Israel officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests contributions be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church.
