Violet Ruth Klaus, 87, of Friedheim died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 3, 1924, in Oak Ridge, daughter of Alfred and Lydia Ruesler Ruppel. She and Milford W. Klaus were married July 22, 1945. He preceded her in death Nov. 23, 2011.

Mrs. Klaus had worked at N.F. Klaus family business. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, a 4-H leader, church worker and Sunday school helper.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Gilbert) Bock Jr. of Uniontown, Mo., Karen Mangels of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Shaun (Kym) Bock, Dawn (Andy) Walkup, Dana (Jeff) Seibel, Jeffrey (Melissa) Mangels, Kevin Mangels, Matthew Mangels; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
