COBDEN, Ill. -- Violet Draper, 73, of Elgin died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at the home of a son in Elgin.

She was born Sept. 25, 1923, at Mill Creek, daughter of E.L. and Vina Reedy Burnett. She and John Draper were married April 14, 1942, in East St. Louis.

Survivors include her husband of Anna; a son, Gary Draper of Elgin; a brother, Johnny Burnett of Granite City; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
