VIOLET COOMES

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Violet Rosalee Coomes, 59, of Dongola died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.

She was born May 30, 1940, in Alto Pass, daughter of Elmer and Mary Penrod Marks. She and Donald Coomes were married in April 1999 in Union County.

Coomes was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rhonda Coomes of Vienna; two brothers, Clifton and Bob Marks of Cobden; and a sister, Paula Marks of Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mill Creek Church, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
